It's all about the fit.

"Your fit on the bike is super important and it affects your power, comfort, and efficiency -- that's why I have always focused on proper fit. For me, cycling is about pushing  yourself, but there is a difference between training  and racing, and suffering with a bad fit."

- Levi Leipheimer, Omega Pharma - Quickstep

Whether you're just starting out as a rider or a seasoned professional, having a poor fit can greatly affect the quality and enjoyment of your ride. While there are many fit services to choose from, Summit City Bicycles' Perfect Fit is the most comprehensive fit system available to all riders. It goes beyond the basics offered by competitors, and is an individualized, scientifically proven system focusing on all the aspects of a rider's position.

What to Expect

Every fit, whether you're a novice or an experienced cyclist, starts with a brief interview between you and your trained fit technician. The 2-3 hour fit process that follows will help your fitter fully understand you, your riding, and your body's needs through the following:

Pre-Fit Interview

The pre-fit assessment is designed to better understand your riding goals and what you are hoping to achieve from your bike fit, as well as to better understand your body’s unique physical characteristics. We will discuss riding goals, any physical injuries you have had, as well as any limitations or discomforts you may currently experience on or off the bike. By understanding your unique goals and characteristics, we can help you achieve optimum comfort and performance on the bike.

20-Point Flexibility Assessment

During this 20 step process, we will look at your body’s natural movements and take measurements to better understand your body’s physical capabilities while on the bike.

Side View Assessment

By assessing the side view of you on your bike, your fitter will establish a correct neutral position that’s both powerful and comfortable by precisely adjusting seat height, handlebar height, stem length, and cleat position.

Z-Plane Assessment

Analysis from a frontal view will optimize your hip, knee, and foot alignment for greater performance and balanced power delivery. The Z-Plane Assessment includes an analysis of pedal and shoe placement and squareness on the saddle.

Follow Up

You will receive a copy of the changes that are made during the bike fit via e-mail. Please check back with us after a few weeks and let us know how things are progressing.
